David Icke: Conspiracy To Kill

The term “conspiracy theory” refers to a theory or explanation that features a conspiracy among a group of agents as a central ingredient. Popular examples are the theory that the first moon landing was a hoax staged by NASA, or the theory that the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center were not (exclusively) conducted by al-Qaeda, but that the US government conspired to let these attacks succeed. Conspiracy theories have long been an element of popular culture; and cultural theorists, sociologists and psychologists have had things to say about conspiracy theories and the people who believe in them.

Conspiracies come in all shapes and sizes, although they are categorised on a simplistic level by political and non-political theories. David Icke is one of the most outspoken conspiracy theorists of modern times, covering a range of topics including but not limited to Reptoid humanoids (the New World Order), in his book The Biggest Secret (1999), he introduced the idea that many prominent figures derive from the Anunnaki, a reptilian race from the Draco constellation. In Human Race Get Off Your Knees: The Lion Sleeps No More (2012), he identified the Moon (and later Saturn) as the source of holographic experiences, broadcast by the reptiles, that humanity interprets as reality. Most recently turning his attention to the global pandemic and preying on the vulnerable looking for answers.

Misinformation & Inciting Violence

In April 2020, Icke claimed in a YouTube video on the London Real channel that there was a link between the COVID-19 pandemic and 5G mobile phone networks. The video was removed from the platform, and YouTube tightened its rules to prevent its website being used to spread conspiracy theories about the COVID-19 pandemic. It was also later deleted from Facebook. A number of mobile phone masts were subject to arson attacks at this time, as well as telecom engineers being abused. Icke said in the London Real interview: “If 5G continues and reaches where they want to take it, human life as we know it is over… so people have to make a decision.”

David has since had most of his social media presence removed but still has a Twitter following of 361.4K Followers worrying in a time where people will believe anything they read on the internet.

London Protests

On the 29th of August 2020 despite most of the social media accounts being silenced Icke managed to amass a gathering of over 10k people in Trafalgar Square in Central London under the guise of a “Freedom Rally”, attracting a range of people including anti-vaxxers and most notably the British Union of Fascists! There must be an irony in there somewhere as Icke has an open hatred for fascism. Their opposition to the current pandemic is frankly beyond irresponsible, willfully putting themselves in danger and sticking a middle finger up at the NHS they clapped for every Thursday. Icke’s ability to spread misinformation and paranoia knows no bounds with a large number of people believing the 5G conspiracy as well, despite no scientific evidence or facts to back up his claims – believed by the Anti-Vaxxers who believe their children will contract autism – those whose children present with autism despite not being vaccinated should serve as proof of this nonsensical theory. Keeping people safe by vaccinating them against deadly diseases is not fascism regardless of his assertions.

We can but hope that he will eventually be silenced properly – I believe in freedom of speech and expression but when your words are actively hurting the world around you its time to take a serious look at your completely unprovable theory and question your sanity. To quote Terry Wogan David Icke is “ranting demagogue convinced we were all manipulated sheep”. David Icke’s only purpose is to enslave manipulated sheep for his own gain.
