To have courage in the face of adversity is one of the most admirable of personality traits, setting one aside from the rest, there are plenty of examples in these current times and its fair to say that without fortitude one can really struggle. For some it is difficult to be courageous in these turbulent times for others like those on the front line it is a mindset they already have. The courage to go into work everyday and treat people no matter what their situation is commendable and while some of us wouldnt even entertain the level of commitment to their roles they continue.
When faced with adversity we have one of two choices – run away or stand and fight – so whichever you choose you must still be prepared for the outcome of the decision. Running from a bully may save you temporarily but will they still be there when you return the next day? If you shout at your manager because you have come to the end of your tether, there will be a discussion and further action. Adversity can teach you new techniques for dealing with issues and on the flip side it can stop you from developing so its important to find a balance somewhere in between. Maybe you run and tell the teacher about the bully or you hold your tongue and write a list of the issues you want to discuss with your manager and talk about it later. There is no right or wrong answer to any situation because it is how you deal with it, fortitude will help you by giving you the courage to stand up for yourself and show the world what you are capable of.
