Carpe Diem

I have spoken about the restaurant from which this piece takes its name, its a place very dear to my heart, The proprietress taught me that you can live by that philosophy, you have to really take hold of your goal and show you mean it. I was there almost 5 years ago next week, somethings have changed some have not, Facebook has been reminding me of my travels. It has been nice looking back on my time away and it reminds me I need to carry on pushing for the future. I also need a change of tack.

Writing more has encouraged me not to be scared about writers block, you can write through it, I don’t normally set myself a timer but I try and stop for a bit after the first couple of hours if only to rest my eyes from the screen. If the mood takes me I can be engrossed for hours and then i’m normally snapped out of it via food or looking at the clock and suddenly realising the time. Does it matter I get engrossed? Well i’m doing my best to look after myself better so making sure i’m living my best life is as important as the writing.

Sometimes it can seem like its taking forever to just write one sentence, you are stuck in a moment with your chosen writing medium, more often than not I fear the blank screen more than a blank page, I can doodle in the corner of a notebook, helps open up my thought paths. Sometimes it will take me 2 hours to write a blog post that another day might only take 20 minutes, it just depends on my focus, if i’m distracted it takes me longer.

Plans are in the works to launch my next level, the office has had a refit, new desk and chair on the way from Amazon, I wont reveal anymore now but look out for some new content and exciting news coming soon!
